Brain Fitness. Suppressing Emotions

Brain Fitness. Suppressing Emotions

(Un)Real

We don’t take time to notice what is going on inside ourselves. We are on auto-pilot and lost in thoughts. Harvard research says that 50% of the time our minds are wandering. We have a negativity bias, we are fixated on what can go wrong or what is wrong with us. Worrying, planning, strategizing to avoid trouble. We miss what is out here in the moment.

(Un) Conditioning

We use our thoughts to stay away from the rawness of our feelings. Obsessive thinking is like an escape route. It takes us out of our body where feelings reside. We miss and don’t listen to our emotions (positive and negative).

Most men and women have been conditioned from a young age to ignore or suppress their emotions.

(Un) Do

Challenge the auto-pilot.

Consciously engage with your emotions, then you can decide what is really important to you and your wellbeing.

(Unleash & Use Your) Uniqueness

Each person has different emotions. We perceive reality in a different way. We even perceive the same emotion (like anger) in a different way.
